Be prepared to meet a lot of residency when you go there. Stanford had been very famous but now many of us can only be seen by residency not what we expect, right?
I'm still in disbelief that Stanford Internal Medicine did not know that they could not refer me to their eye institute which made me waste my time by going up there and waiting and then to find out the next day none of that could happen
MEDICAL RIP-OFF disguised as a "Teaching Hospital"!! I strongly recommend finding an alternative to Stanford healthcare. After moving to California from WA, got my first appointment at Stanford after waiting over 6 months. Went for an annual preventative care check up. I've done this every year and its fully covered by insurance. Did the same thing here (and confirmed with the doctor that I was there for a preventative appointment) but it was still billed as a diagnostic appointment. I can't say anything good about any healthcare facility in California, and complaints are common across the board. California is not on the top list of accessing care, receiving quality care, etc. Any longer. Many other states are, with Hawaii being #1, Connecticut, New Hampshire, etc. You have to Google this information. California is only #1 in Public Health, and healthcare here is focused on preventative care. Like, not getting sick.
