I have been paying over $19/mo for nearly three decades to this company for LTD insurance. I finally cancelled via phone since it’s impossible via any other means. I’m mad that it took me this long to realize I’d been taken for a very long ride. Lesson learned! Don’t be like me. Research what funds you have going out on an auto basis and get rid of the excess! I get ZERO benefit from this policy after all these years.
The Standard Ins. Short term disability ins. is not worth the paper it's written on. Less than poor customer service. DO NOT BUY!

If you have short or long term disability insurance through Standard Insurance Company you may not want to depend on them to pay your disability without harassing you nonstop. My friend has been receiving $50/month from them and receive anywhere from 4 or 5 to over a dozen forms to fill out every month. She was receiving a form requesting pages of medical updates every other day.
