The Standard is a hidden gem located inside theSmith House. From the moment you enter inside the restaurant you will mesmerized by its beauty; rustic exposed-brick walls, gorgeous chandeliers, swanky dining rooms and wood accented decor makes it worth a lingering walk. As eclectic is the decor to the eye their menu is equallyfascinatingto the palate. Start your evening with something from their creative cocktail menu and move on to sample a few appetizers. Rack of Lamb or a Steak are great as mains with sides of your choice.... read more

Beautiful – I never leave reviews... But this place is truly an experience of bliss and romance. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone wanting a surreal evening of serene wonderful dining...
It as a perfect evening – My husband and I went here for a date nite, and let me tell you, it was the best place we have been here in Nashville! We are new the area and have been on the quest to find a favortie spot, and we have found it! We have become regulars, the staff even remembers our names when we walk in! The food is incredible everytime we go, and the service is the best around. Try the Standard once and you will be hooked! It is awesome!
Wonderful fish sandwich – I had the fish sandwich and sweet potato fries for lunch yesterday. Absolutely wonderful, I am going back with clients soon! Waiter was great, good service, but they ran out of diet coke.
Not worth the price – I had dinner recently at the Standard, and it was truly disappointing. While the atmosphere is great--the house is beautiful--the food was average and the menu was boring. The food was not bad, but for close to $30 per entree, I expected much higher caliber. My pork chop was dry, the crab cake was mostly breading, and most entrees had the same two side dishes offered. Again, all would be fine if you were eating at a chain restaurant, but not a place that clearly claims to be something more. While we wer... read more
Frozen sweet potatoes fries and a burnt hot brown served by a disdainful waiter – Well, I don't really write reviews, but to have a server speak to me like I'm an idiot is plenty of motivation. I can deal with the fact that the sweet potato fries are frozen and a busy kitchen who burns my food, but you'd think that my waiter would have been polite. He obviously was in a rush, but to flat out tell someone that you "don't have time to deal with them right now" is a bit much. All I wanted was a check. Did he not want my money? ... read more
You must visit NOW!!!!! – Let's start out that The Standard was very comfortable for lunch the service was excellent, the food is of fresh fare, and everything was perfect. I can't wait to go for dinner sometime soon.
Loved it! – I've had wonderful service and great food at the Standard. The atmoshpere is nice and you can't find a better selection of food that is all delicious anywhere else. They also did a great job on my friend's wedding after party.
Nashville's only remaining 1840s-era townhouse sees new life as a downtown lunch spot. – In Short This three-story brick legend has hosted Nashville's elite as a boarding house, society club and set for music videos. But, ladies who lunch and businessmen now enter its grand arched doorway to dine under chandeliers and among refurbished mantles and Victorian furniture. The Standard's refined Southern-themed menu offers crab bisque flavored with Tennessee whiskey, Hot Brown sandwiches with sauce moray and chicken Madeira--all ... read more
Best Hot Brown anywhere – I LOVE The Standard! They have a sandwich called the Hot Brown that is amazing! They also have a Blackened Salmon that was the best Salmon I have ever had. The crab cakes are great, and so is the french dip. As you can see I love it, and go at least once a week. I look forward to them opening for dinner soon.
