Prior to my surgery, I met with Dr. stanat. I also met with a person who explained the pre-opt procedures, test I would need and all the infor I would need. I also was on Force, which had al the video's about what to expect, before surgery exercises and what would happen after the surgery with therapy. Just overall a great experience and no surprises. Dr. Stanat was in contact after my surgery, having me check in everyday with how I felt and if I had any concerns.
I have had both knees and my hip replaced by Dr. Stanat and I am thrilled with the results. I recovered quickly (and I'm in my 60's) with little pain from all three procedures and returned to full activity in record time. I would (and DO) recommend Dr. Stanat for anyone needing orthopedic work. He's the best!
Great Doctor, He one of if not the only Doctor in ct. or New England who could have preformed my left hip revision. I even when to Mass General and they were incompetent to do my surgery.
Professional, thorough with explanations of your particular condition. As far as the actual surgery (knee replacement) I could not have had a better job performed by a surgeon
64 years old self employed, Anthem blue cross plan. Called this group for appointment, they don't accept my insurance. $9,000.0 a year plan, $7,000 deductible, so I have to be cripple, because of there greed. The health care system is broke.
Dr. Stannat was patient, provided thorough explanations, and answered all my questions. My problem was not something that could be treated with surgery but he provided the best and most thorough diagnosis I had received from anyone I had seen ( another orthopedist, chiropractor, and physical therapists). He spelled out all options for treatment. I received physical therapy in Franklin for which I would give mixed reviews—depending on the person providing service.
I am sure he is quite knowledgeable but I found him to be judgmental of his patients and not very helpful outside of doing surgery on you.
On my first visit with DR Stanat I was pleasantly surprised to see how well we had a Patient Doctor discussion with my problem.He was very professional and took enough time to explain the options.He gave me a cortisone injection in my worst knee and a day later WONDERFUL. I went in for a simple orthoscopic surgery. My pain was reduced by having it done but I will never run again unless I get corrective surgery. The procedure was a few years ago (so now I have some additional scarring) and likely "corrective surgery" will mean I need what is called "partial knee replacement". During my follow-up appointment, he said "sometimes that happens"when I told him my knee could no longer support running or backpacking.
