Worst experience ever!!!!Stay away!! – Went there friday Febr 4th with 2 other friends,the manager was really annoyed that we had the "ba''lls" to ask him to have a table for 3,the hostess was so rude and so uneducated(Albanian Mgt,Albanian Hostess),she almost threw the menus in our faces.The wait staff was really nice,food not to great,restaurant really beautiful,but i don`t know how in the world the owners don`t see what`s going on in that place!The manager was cursing very loud,the hostess looked like she never had a bath... read more
Agreed I have to agree with some of the others here. The service was AWFUL! The food was ok, but pricey for what it is and definitely nothing spectacular. If it were cheaper, I'd go back for the food in a pinch but the service guarantees I won't be back.
Avoid – Recently went for a glass of wine with a friend. The barmaid was SO rude we left. Horrible service. We had just paid and she said “I don't know where youy ladies are from but you never gave me a tip†surely a tip is for good service! No personality so no tip..
Waist of time and money!!! Awful service & food!!! – Worst service I have ever experienced. Rude and does not care less. Menu is very poor and basic. Do not go there, even if it is the only place open in the area (which is never the case)...IT IS BAD
Avoid this place – I headed to the Staghorn based on the 4.5 star rating. it must have changed hands recently. The new owners have made it as dead as doornail. I was the ONLY person in the restaurant on a Thursday night at 8 pm. Drinks were $12 each!!! I drank my drink and left before ordering any food -- the owners appear to not understand the NYC market at all. I would avoid this place at all costs.
No Reason To Eat Here – Went to Staghorn last night for dinner before the Big East tournament. Other than it's proximity to MSG, there really are no redeaming qualities to this place. The proprietors and waitstaff are Eastern European (I think Romanian) trying to operate an American steakhouse. It's not working... Staghorns is my favorite place near MSG – This place is spectacular, they are Romanian, they know fine service. Best porterhouse steak anywhere (sorry Ben Benson) and a reasonable number $$$. Within easy walking distance of the Garden (unless it is raining), and never too crowded to take in a special meal. I always make reservations, but I think you could chance just showing up.
Over-bearing service and unexceptional steak – We travelled to New York City from England to stay for a week at New Year. When we asked our hotel concierge if they could recommend a lively American steakhouse for the Saturday night, this is where he sent us. Perfect for Special Occasions – Last week I was hosted by a business associate and we were seated within just a few minutes of our 8 PM reservation time. My host had calamari and lamb chops , and I had onion soup and salmon. I don't think these items could have been better anywhere--spectacular presentation, freshness, and flavors.
