I made several simple yet specific requests of the doctor, anesthesiologist, and nurse prior to my surgery at St. Marks. Each "healthcare professional" assured me that my requests would be honored. After surgery I learned that NONE were. The entire experience left me feeling utterly betrayed and marginalized. If you go there for surgery, you will be heavily sedated as quickly and as long as possible so that they don't have to worry about your humanity. I strongly encourage you to find a different hospital for surgery.

We came because my friend fractured her arm and have been here for 4 hours, 30 min in an empty waiting room, 1 hour waiting for staff to being her her meds, and another hour after we had been cleared to "leave" waiting for the insurance paper work. At IHC we would have been out of here in half the time I can't believe this

We had to use the emergency room at the hospital. While the doctors and technicians were professional and we received good care, I cannot give 5 stars due to their billing practices. They have 5 levels of emergencies, and I can't find out who decides what level you are. My husband had a panic attack/anxiety which was labeled a level 3 out of 5. The total bill was $867 for the hospital + $160 for the doctor. They don't tell you the doctor will be separate, they don't tell you how much anything will cost, and you aren't given ... read more

In 1978,I was brought here because I had fallen downstairs and needed treatment and stitches in my head. The doctors and nurses at the time were very courteous and they knew what had to be done for my recovery process.I would go here again if totally necessary.I haven't needed to return since because of it not being so very close to me.

Staff was sooo nice! All of them! Everyone was friendly and helpful, things were quick and efficient. I loved that they let people go back to the waiting/bedside area right up until you get taken back to surgery. Even children! That made things so nice and comfortable for me and my family. The only bummer about the place is that there were no food types of services available, not even vending machines. But that's not a big deal - the staff was happy to point out nearby places where my family could go grab a bite while I was ... read more
