There are many myths surrounding COVID-19, but we want our patients to be informed about the truth. Have you heard cold weather and snow can kill COVID-19? This is NOT true. There is no reason to believe that cold weather can kill COVID-19 or other diseases. The normal human body temperature remains around 97.7°F to 99.5°F, regardless of the external temperature or weather. For more facts about COVID-19, visit https://bit.ly/2MM2KzG

Thank you to many of our local communities for coming out to participate in recent motorcycle and classic car parades at St. Joe's hospitals and health centers. These recent parades in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Livingston and Livonia paid tribute to our caregivers working on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. On behalf of our medical teams, thank you for your warm display of love and support.

Does your child have anxiety about wearing a mask? Dr. Angela Andrews, internal medicine and pediatrics physician says, "Talk about the reason behind the masks in simple terms. Tell children under three that they help keep people from getting sick and tell older children how it stops the spread of germs. If anxiety persists, show them images of their favorite characters, such as superheroes, wearing their masks.” https://bit.ly/2zuw9vC #BeRemarkable

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Hometown Heroes program whose members recently donated Girl Scout cookies to our health care colleagues at St. Joe’s Ann Arbor. Your remarkable act of kindness has lifted the spirits of our colleagues fighting against COVID-19. https://bit.ly/2TEXvFT

Today, February 26, is Ash Wednesday. In recognition, we offer blessings and distribution of ashes to colleagues and patients at each of our hospital campuses. Health care is made up of the mind, body and spirit, and this practice of spiritual care is one we are honored to offer. https://bit.ly/397gEpC #AshWednesday
