Is it hospital policy to treat all patients like drug addicts? Or is it just on special days that patients are treated like scum? Nurses def need some bedside manner training. Thankfully, the doctors in charge and 2 of the nurses displayed some compassion. Frightened and in pain, the last thing I needed was for nurses berating me. Not a pleasant experience.

They missed diagnosis every time I have been there almost resulting in my death in 2008 still tried to bill me. Good place to die.
Great ER staff. Billing is terrible. I pay big money every 2 weeks for insurance. Copay is met at time of service. You get a surprise large bill they try to put on you by the doctors who are contracted by hospital. I am not responsible personally for the way doctors are employed by hospital. We go to neighboring parish hospital where our insurance and copay are greatly accepted. The more people I talk to are having the same problems.

A quick Thank you to St. James Parish Hospital. I brought my husband to the ER on Saturday because he cut his finger with a skill saw. Thank you Monica, Jamie and Dr. Chris for the excellent care that was given to him.
