Dec 30, 2022, 7:44 PM St David's South Austin Medical Center: "Worst ER in Austin. BP is 184/127 with a resting heart rate of 104. Said my blood sugar was good. IT was actually tested at another ER. It was 341. Doctor refused any pain medication but Tylenol.Said it could be a Fibromyalgia Flair. Still he doesn't believe in treating any pain with anything stronger than OTC Tylenol.Got tired of waiting to be released. I removed my IV and all my equipment. No one even noticed. The triage nurse was an asshole, as were two phlebotomists. I accidently included my vision insurance card in the cards I gave her at check-in. She smacked it down on the counter and sarcastically said, " I don't need that. It went downhill fast from there with her. She seemed angry before I even opened my mouth. When I was being prepped for an IV of antibiotics, she asked me which arm I wanted to use. I told her I didn't care. Thank you ICU and 6th floor South for the wonderful care my very sick daughter was able to get from you all! She was in the hospital from March 23 to May 1 and all of the nurses, Dr.'s, palliative care nurse and support staff were top notch! God Bless you all! Mom from Michigan
1.0 star rating12/10/2019 Horrible service we went a Sunday night my wife had a ear infection we went to ER and they see her one minute and physician said she needs a specialist we ok tks will see one till tomorrow monday in a clinic. And just like that one minute in and out of ER , guess what few weeks $1,400 hospital bill and a $690 dlls of the physician. Kathryn Masters is very unprofessional. Here is my opinion of her based on my experience. You might experience a completely different interaction with her, I hope. Yesterday I attended the ER at St. David's hospital due to a severe upper stomach pain. She ordered her nurses to check my lower abdomen and I allowed it trusting her doctor's experience.
