I’ve had terrible experiences at Dean east. My PCP didn’t manage my care. There was no coordination between specialties and often several times no one informed me of which services needed referrals so my condition declined due to no referrals to or- when I did get a referral to pt they informed me that I didn’t need a referral anyway. Wow. And I had multiple appointments with my primary team all saying pt would help you. Also they refused to medicate me for pain even for before my pt appointment. I saw Molly today for a mammogram. She was so friendly and she made an uncomfortable exam comfortable. She is a jewel for Dean Care. I wish there were more like her.

A 10-minute standard vision test was almost $600, all out of pocket. I have both vision and medical insurance as a federal employee on a national plan. I had no idea SSM was out of network, but they are only in network for one single insurer Superior vision — not available through my extensive federal employee options. My vision insurance covers out of network costs, but was expecting a normal charge for a standard exam, somewhere between $40-200. Shame on SSM. Dr Musa was the most thorough & detailed Provider I have ever had at SMS. He went through deep details to make sure I understood all my options. Time spent with me was exceptional. I will follow his recommendations & so very much appreciate my very personal care. Don’t get that very much these days. Outstanding care.
