Mmmmm – I go here fairly often and it would have gotten all 5 stars from me, but the service is always slow. I love taking people here, but am embarassed by how long it takes to get service. The food is soo soo good. I do wish they'd bring back the veggie burger though, it was one of the best. They have a killer grilled cheese (seriously) and some amazing creative sandwiches and brunch. High Dive used to be a good Dive – Can you say Emo's with attitude problems? Service is bad, most band are really bad. It was better when it was 7 south and just a plain old dive bar with edgy bands. I think this Emo crowd is going to feel just as stupid as the break dancers of the mid-80's someday. Comb your hair and loose the tight pants mr hip.
Sputnik is located on the south end of Broadway, or as some like to refer to it: ?SO BO.? The bar/restaurant is laden with retro decor, accentuating the mildly attractive, overtly tortured, Denver hipster crowd who frequent it. Anxious to try out the ?Weekend Hangover Brunch,? What's up with the waitstaff? – I go to Sputnik all the time. It's a few blocks from my house and open late, with a pretty good menu. Most of the sandwiches are tasty, as are the brunch items. There's plenty on the menu, however, that is imaginative but something just gets lost in the execution. You cannot beat the $5 bottomless mimosas for getting tanked on a Sunday morning. Best bar food! – It's not a dive bar, nor a sports bar. It's not a diner or even a restaurant at all. It's a bar that serves food and it goes by the name, Sputnik. Even the kitchen has a name (Strekla) at this totally hip South Broadway hang out. However, don't let the Russian names fool you, the food here is, like the bar, impossible to categorize, and they like it that way! Staff needs some training and polish – I showed up for the video scavenger hunt, a event that was supposed to start at noon on a saturday. I was there before noon, and when noon came around, nobody was there for the event. I asked the bartender if the event was still going to take place, and he had no idea what I was talking about. I pulled up the website on my laptop and showed it to him--12 noon, that day. Later, he found out that it was on, but scheduled to start at 1pm not 12 noon. A good place--for hipsters, and you're probably not one – Sputnik is a hipster hangout. This means rarely anyone over 30, and you pobably don't wear the right clothes or have the right haircut. The bartenders are simply fashionistas that really don't have the skills to make sputnik anything other than a corner bar with a hip veneer. They are just kids. poor bartenders – Wow. the people who work here are the best. I wish I could give them all jobs. the people who own this bar seem to pride themselves on treating the bar staff like indentured servants. It is truly pathetic. If you think that Walmart is bad, as far as employment tactics-check these guys out. smaller scale, worse treatment. That is just not the kind of place I would support.
