We stood here for 3 nights, to visit Anchorage and the surrounding areas before going on a cruise ship. Typical Springhill Suites hotel, with astronomical prices (like you are staying at a four seasons or ritz carlton), the staff is limited. They never made the bedrrom, even though we asked for it several times. They had issues with their credit card terminals, and we had to wait nearly 1 1/2 hours at checkout so they could process my credit card. The manager was never to be found.
I stay exclusively at Marriotts all across the country as a gold elite lifetime member. This is the 2nd dirtiest I have ever stayed at, with Muskogee Ok being the dirtiest. There is hair all over the shower and even on the ceiling. There are stains on the night stand and bathroom walls. The curtains are absolutely disgusting. Clean and nice with great service. Pool and hot tub were perfect after a long hike and the breakfast was great! Even loved the movie theatre directly behind the hotel. The only downside was the location which is pretty central to a lot of things and has a Walmart in walking distance. Problem is you have to avoid a roaming crowd of homeless to get there. Was our last night in Anchorage!
Not only did they cancel our reservation for “over booking” - they told us they confirmed a reservation at their “sister property” to make up for the mistake. When we arrived at the new reservation, they had no idea what we were talking about. We flew into Anchorage with no room in the middle of the night- ruined our next days trip. Don’t trust making a reservation here.
