Dr. Lacher offered a microchip special . After much discussion, we decided to have our horses microchipped in spite of our freeze brand. Doubtful that they would be stolen; however, in the event of heavy rains and wind, trees could easily fall on our fences and out they could go. We live in a rural neighborhood where "loose" horses are quickly identified and returned via the human telegraph, but decided to err on the side of caution in the event of natural disaster here or while traveling with our horses.
