I had the pleasure of hunting over several labs Marty and David had trained at SLK and I just had to have one. Sweet Lucy is not my first trained lab, but she is definitely the best. "Calm but ready" is not just a slogan, it is a reality. Tough as nails in the field and the sweetest pet and friend at home. Many thanks to SLK!!

We love SLK! Best decision we ever made was to drive 11 hours to pick up our puppy. Kerwin is the light of our life, he was trained as more of a companion/support dog than a hunter, but he picked commands up in a flash! He was following what we call the "basic 7" by the time he was 4 months old. He was so calm, that as a puppy, people often questioned if he was really lab!!!! So impressed with our Lab from SLK. Marty and staff do a wonderful job of breeding, raising, and training some amazing hunting/family companions. Our dog Emma can go from a morning on stand retrieving 30 plus ducks to an afternoon curled up on the couch with our three kids. Will never have a dog from anywhere else.

We have 2 fine labs from Sporting Life Kennels. I would recommend them 100% to anyone that is looking for a fine hunting dog or family dog. We are so lucky to have found them. Thank you to Marty and his crew for breeding wonderful dogs.

I have not bought a dog from Marty yet, but he has always been willing to share his wealth of knowledge and experience. That says a lot to me, if you are paying someone it's expected, to help others when it's not financially compensated is just a sign of good people. Sporting Life Kennels is certainly on my "going to do business" list!
