Specialties New American Gastropub Fare, 40 Craft Beers On Tap History Established in 2007. Spitzer's Corner preserves a bit of the history of the exciting neighborhood where we are located...the name Spitzer's Corner comes from Spitzer's Dress Shop, which occupied the space for over 50 years. Today, the dress shop has been transformed into a unique and popular gastropub in Manhattan's cool and hip Lower East Side.

Don't go if you expect good service!! The seating procedures here are appalling. – I went to Spitzer's as part of a group of 10 people. we were seated on benches in the front and told that a nearby long table would be ours soon, and we could order our food in the meantime. well, that table became available after about 30 minutes, and we started to move over... only to be shooed away by a hostess and told that the table was for another party -- of 5 people!! about 3 minutes later a table that was perfectly suitable for 5 open... read more
a new favorite... – Very solid. The burger was excellent - despite the review of some guy bashing it. That makes no sense whatsoever, it is VERY GOOD. The space is well used and pretty cool as the windows open up to the busy street - though can get crowded so come early. Beer selection is great too. Go for the bag of doughnuts to finish. Nice way to close.
not so hot – beers are good. service is good..the food was horrible!!! burgers were raw clams were full of sand artichoke had no meat.go for a beer and stick with the fries.
good beer so-so food... but the three glowing reviews below are from the owner – Beer list is pretty large. I was weird when i ordered the same beer three times and they came in three different size glasses all for the same price. The food was ok, def not cheap. The best was the shrimp they were nice and big. My gf burger was ok not that great. The three reviews below, LESGAL, C4MEE MOFO12 are three glowing reivews from people that also glowingly reviewed FAT BABY on the same day. This reeks of the owner pumping up his own p... read more
BEST HANGOUT ON LES!!!!!! – I have been to Spitzer's Corner (love the nod to the retired dress shop that was previously in the space) many times with many of my friends and family- for good reason. I was there two night ago and I ate the best burger I have ever had (amazing ground short rib, perfect bun from sullivan street bakery- had to ask!-carmelized onions, Gus' pickles & a touch of Maytag Blue). My fave used to be Corner Bistro's, but my allegience has shifted. Homemade fries were crispy and brown and amazing. A friend... read more
excellent!! – i have two things to say....BEER insane. BURGER INSANE! defnitely the best burger ive had. period. i ordred it with the maytag-most places slop on way too much and it overpowers the flavor of the burger. ala spotted pig. spitzers hooked it up. amen!
Best food and beer in the LES – I went to Spitzer's Corner with my niece recently, she finished culinary school a couple of years ago and has been around food ever since. She thought the burger was the best she ever had, I put it in my top 3 list. The stake was very good as well, and the cured meat plate was a great appetizer. Needless to say, there were no leftovers (except some fries, they are very generous with them). I'm not a beer drinker, but even I was impressed by the selection and had a few tastes. The design is rea... read more
Good beer, terrible food. – Spitzer's corner has an amazing selection of beers which were served ice cold through clean lines. That's the good part. The bad part is that their food is absolutley atrocious. They charge $3/ea for gritty, subpar, cheap oysters that are meant to be served at frat bars on $1 oyster night. I ordered the hamburger medium rare which came out VERY RARE and completely cold with cold fries. Their vegetable "small plates" are expensive, absolutley laughable, and beyond pitiful. Eat somewhere else in the... read more
This Place is Fantastic!! – Finally a place on the Lower East Side where I can meet up with a large group of people, actually sit down and not be crammed in some smelly dank bar. This place is awesome, the beer list is absurd, and the fact that the food is good too is an added bonus. The Window seating could possible be the best people watching ever!
