Unfortunately Speedy has gone downhill in almost all areas. This used to be my go-to place for small-medium size orders for many years. I loved being able to walk in, place an order with a sales person, and wait 30 minutes for pickup. Today the lead times are long (days, not minutes or hours - requires two trips), they have a substantial minimum order charge, and the overall prices are no longer competitive. Wow! Its been a bit since I purchased a small piece of metal from SM, there is now a minimum charge of $50 for walk-ins. The employee was kind enough to tell me prior so I could shop else where. I needed a 22" of solid round stock for an axel I found it for $13.99 at ace hardware.

I unfortunately, have waited too long to review, so I can not remember the guy I spoke with... But what a top-notch experience I had on March 12, 2025. I had a big job to get done, it was mid-week and I wasn't getting shipping confirmation as fast as I wanted..lol. So I placed a call and he understood and heard my concern, took my information, and got back to me within the hour.
