I stopped at Spee-d-metals to get a piece of 304 stainless round stock for an antique drafting table I’m working on. They took measurements of the original piece I wanted replicated and called the next day that it was ready for pick-up. The price of the piece was more than reasonable and the service was kind and quick. The actual piece I received was nice and the end cuts were clean, even and not jagged or splintering. I went to this location for a project I am doing, Ernie or whatever his name is rips you off with outrageous prices. Airgas has cheaper metal. Do not go to this place for home projects. You won’t break even based off the product’s production cost if you get your materials from Speedy metal.
Horrible customer service. Treat you like you're nothing if you are not buying a ton of metal from them. It's almost impossible to even get prices. I wish I could give them negative starts
So I called this company, and was put in touch with "Ernie" or some like... And I gotta say... "Ernie" was about the worst person I could have ever spoken to. He knew nothing. I said: Well ____ is offering an aluminum stock at (1/4) the price. He said: "Well its about the grade" I asked: What is the scale of which that grade is based... called?
