Al did a fantastic job, explained all his findings to us in a detailed and understandable way, walked through the entire house with us and was great to work with. Complete waste of money. I bought my home in 2005 and used Specsure for the home inspector recommended by my real estate agent. All they did was make a cute folder and take a bunch of pics I could and did already take myself. Over the years I have had to repair plumbing that was not up to code (visible from the basement), junction boxes that were hidden in walls, floor joists that needed to be sistered and repaired due to "plumber carpentry". This inspection served no purpose for me at all.
We hired Alan to perform inspections on two houses we were hoping to purchase. Alan was friendly, professional, and trust-worthy, and incredibly thorough. The first house we planned to buy had major structural issues, and we never would have known of them if we’d waived the inspection, as so many buyers feel pressured to do these days. The second house was “the one,” and having a reassuring inspection enabled us to feel confident in our purchase.
