***READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU GO*** this surgical center is fast, clean, efficient and accommodates any doctors from this area that need to do minor procedures when their own hospital is impacted. The biggest complaint I see about this place is that they will charge you more if you do not have your insurance straightened out. Really great center, desk staff pleasant, nice office vibe clean beautiful, office manager pacing and ensuring everything Is working and people friendly, first nurse helpful packed away valuables, Dr Yap gastro dr really nice demeanor, humorous and professional, Dr Ra anesthesiologist really solid manner and informed me well, discharge handled well by Liezel, my valuables were brought to me, Javier took me down to car, really solid job.. overall excellent one day surgical center!!!
I am so thankful for the wonderful experience I had here. This was my first surgery ever and I was more nervous than I’d ever been about anything in my life. I arrived at 10:45am for my 11:00am check-in. I had already completed some of the paperwork ahead of time so the rest only took a few minutes. The waiting room was comfortable with plenty of couches and natural light. I only waited about 10 minutes before they brought me back for pre-op. UCI utilize this surgical center for minor procedures. My procedure was minor so UCI scheduled the surgery to this facility. UCI stated a nurse in this surgical facility will call me prior to the scheduled surgery and provide pre-ops instructions. 3 days before the surgery I called the Surgical Center, the lady took my number, stated the pre-ops nurse will call me. I would be extremely hesitant to go back to the Specialty Surgical Center of Irvine. The care/procedure was actually excellent, but that's primarily thanks to doctors and staff contracted through other institutions that utilize the center. Specialty Surgical Center has a policy of collecting large amounts of estimated payments on the day of your procedure, in advance of anything actually being processed by your insurance.
