It was OK – Do not expect anyone to answer the phone. They should really have a receptionist or someone answering the phone. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I feel that the business should make time for the customer, not vice versa....meaning, the customer is calling because that is when they have time to call. By having to leave a message and wait for a call back, it implies that the business' time is more important than the customer's. It's interesting what makes a person unhappy and happy. We don't have a big spa because we wanted to focus on the spa treatments and more importantly the client when they are in the spa. That being said we have one phone line. We used a answering service and it wasn't our style because it wasn't personal enough. We like to talk directly with our clients. Love this Spa! – I have been to many spas over the years - this is by far my favorite. Willow and her staff make you feel very welcome and relaxed. They have the best spa packages I have had. Don't let the basement scare you away, it is very cozy, unlike the chain spas.

My favorite secret in Hollywood – I frequently visit friends in the area, so to discover this very cozy and friendly spa in Hollywood (just blocks away from where I crash with my girlfriend and her family) was a total surprise and blessing! I've gone to the big airy hotel-type spas, which are super nice but quite bustly with staff and many visitors. Spa Willamina's small cozy atmosphere is more my preference. Small is good! – I wanted to plan a spa day for myself and a visiting friend. We've been from Pebble Beach to the East Coast and could be considered "high maintenance". I found Spa Willamina on the City Search site and what intrigued me was "by invitation only" and "private sanctuary". We have 101 reviews and 3 of them are negative. (3), that is amazing. What is so special about that you may ask? The fact that my team puts their heart and soul into what we do and it shows. A day spa should be more than a place to get a facial it should be your own sanctuary. A place of healing.

Lots of people think, "A basement" then they walk in and their face lights up. It's pretty cool. My husband built the spa and he has done several clients basement remodel because people realize they can do amazing things with their basements. It just goes to show with a creative mind you can do anything.
My little secret heaven – I have been to a lot of spas in Portland and this one is my favorite so far. My esthetitian Willow is so good at what she does and so thorough. She massages from face, neck, shoulder, head, and arms and spend time doing it instead of 5 mins massage and 30 mins mask on and left alone like you usually get at a lot of places. I even got my husband hooked!! I absolutely love it!

I am so thankful to have such loyal clients like you. In the years I have been doing this I have several husbands who now come and clients who are also bringing their teenage children. I like to give a facial how I want to receive one, with lots of massage. I want it to feel good and help the skin.
Wonderful experience – Having just moved to Portland from New York City, finding a spa in a quaint neighborhood was a nice treat. Spa Willamina was a wonderful experience from the intimate setting to the quality service. My face was glowing after my facial! The staff is warm and knowledgeable and I love that a relatively small establishment takes American Express! I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Want to relax? Skip this place. – Being that I am pregnant, most spas will charge an arm and a leg for a prenatal massage. When I found this spa in my neighborhood, that charges reasonable prices, I was thrilled. I got there and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The receptionist (owner?) was super nice and chit-chatty. This spa is located in a converted basement of the owner?s home.
