Genuinely compassionate, and cares about patient's comfort. I had two fillings done. He had applied a local anesthetic, but it was still hurting when he drilled. I told him just to keep going, but he insisted on applying more anesthetic, until I wasn't in pain. I highly recommend him. It was a bit on the expensive side, but I haven't in 34 years, had a better dentist.
Fillings, root canals, bridges, cleanings, exams, x-rays. You name it, I've had it done by Dr. Southworth and his staff during the past 15+ years. Naturally, I wish dental costs in general were lower, but I appreciate that they allowed me a couple of months to clear my portion of payment due for bridgework, which was more than $900. Pain free, careful, friendly, honest, kind, and thorough for procedures: cavity filling, bridges, crowns, and dental implants. (I have bad teeth and HAD a morbid fear of dentists for years before finding Dr. Bob Southworth.) The dental implant was done by both Dr. Southworth, the crown portion, and a colleague, Dr. Milne, did the interior portion. No pain ever. Staff is warm, friendly, this is a family practice. I recommend them 100%.
I go for mostly to get my teeth cleaned and this gets done with care and efficiency. The doctor is straightforward and good-humored. He and his staff are very attentive to body-language and clearly place a premium on patient comfort. The office staff is good about reminding me of upcoming appointments and handles the money very professionally. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist.
I am a fairly new patient of Dr. Southworth, but his practice has done super well by me. I recently took a fall from my bicycle, and damaged a front tooth. I waited several days to see if it would stop causing me pain, when it didn't I went in to his office to make an appointment, to get it looked at. They got me in for an X-ray of the tooth on the spot, and managed to schedule me an exam the very next day. The best dentist ever. Does not try to sell me services I really don't need. Is an artist with alloy when needed; but will place crowns when I ask for esthetics. The all porcelain crown he did over my root canal tooth looks and feels like a natural tooth. At 55 I decided to have braces and he was extremely helpful in advising a specialist to see. The implants he helped me with look very natural.. Best dentist ever hope he never retires. Just wish he still did root canals; now he refers to endodontists.
Dr. Southworth has always done a great job with my teeth. His hygenists are friendly, I always have the same one every time and have built a relationship with them both. I am in and out as quickly as possible, yet the experience is not stressful or painful and I leave with my teeth looking fabulous! I have recently changed dentists due to the length of the commute from my home to his office, but I would recommend him to anyone, anytime!
I have been a patient of Dr. Southworth's for some time. His staff is very knowledgeable and caring. I like the fact that you can see the dentist at 7am in the morning before work.
Everything about this office is first rate if you are looking for quality dental care! I am not as concerned with the "health-spa" facilities as I am with the people and procedures. You can't find a better, kinder, considerate group of people from top to bottom. My care has always been first rate and I now travel from Beaverton to NE Portland just to stay with Robert Southworth and his staff.
