Customer service relative to prescription refills has become very poor in recent weeks. After running out of critical eye drops, I contacted my pharmacy to find out why my auto refill had not kicked in. The pharmacist explained that they had contacted my doctor’s office days earlier, but had not received a reply. I then called my doctor’s office but only got voice mail after lengthy wait times. When I finally got through to a person, it was a messenger clerk. I was unable to reach a doctor or a medical assistant. After hour... read more

After reviewing their website and seeing they advertised for routine eye exams in Yuma, i requested an appointment. They called me back, next day, asking same info I had already submitted, then transferred my call to Yuma - was then asked same info AGAIN. Was then told they do not provide this service in Yuma - only do surgeries. Wasted a day of my time chasing them. XXed them off my list. Save yourself time (and money - go to Algodones)

I had laser surgery on both eyes. The doctor (Funke) was fine. However... I understand that dealing with the pandemic has resulted in significant disruption of normal practices and to some disorganization, but much of my experience has been unreasonable and ridiculous! 1. For my FIRST laser procedure, staff had not forwarded my post surgery prescription to my pharmacy. NONE of the telephone numbers I had been given for post-surgery assistance were answered, including the EMERGENCY number. As a result, I had no pain relief ... read more

When you get an estimate and you pay for that estimate; don't think it stops there. It doesn't. I should've listened to another physician who warned me about the billing activities of this surgery clinic. My payment of thousands of dollars in March 2019; most of it still hasn't posted to my account today (October 2019) and yet they're sending balance due notices for thousands of dollars. I package I selected, I paid for in full, plus I paid in full for tests, the surgical center, anesthesia and all of the extra related ex... read more

Billing nightmare. Unless you want to spend all your time trying to wait on the phone or follow around charges, I wouldn't go here. Takes a long time for them to send the bill, then when you call, you can press 2 for pay over the phone - and the line hangs up. Then you call back and press the number to be connected to a billing person. Then they come on and can only pay one bill at a time - to which your supposed to call back the next day. They have a patient portal but it doesn't work unless you get a portal "key". I ... read more

I've been a patient of Southwestern Eye Center for over 20 years, initially in South Tempe and for several years now in South Scottsdale with Dr. Palmer and his team at the Miller Road location. Dr. Palmer is a fantastic doctor who takes very good care of me and the health of my eyes. Unfortunately I had some serious administrative difficulties and disagreements with the previous office manager back in 2017 to the point I was seriously considering finding a new provider. However, that has all changed now that I've worked ... read more

It’s very interesting that I read these great reviews. My wife was scheduled (or so we thought) for laser surgery on June 17 2019. We cane into the Scottsdale office and my wife confirmed at the front desk that she was here for the surgery. The receptionist said yes and we sat down to wait. First for 45 minutes. Then we waited in their second waiting room another at least 45 minutes to see the lady who works with the doctor as we thought to prep her for surgery. We asked about the surgery. Just some general questions and she... read more
