A close family member of mine experienced unprecedented delays receiving a treatment plan at this facility. I am unsure what the issue was, perhaps it was a medical staffing shortage, technical difficulties with the proton therapy equipment, or simply incompetence. Sadly, my relative was forced to seek treatment at a different medical facility hundreds of miles from his home, as the delays became a life threatening emergency. Southwest Florida Proton and staff are simply amazing. Tara and the front desk, the daily Proton therapy team of Jamie, Danielle and Yanella, and of course Dr. Pezzi, Krisha and Michelle and team, are outstanding in every way. Without fail, across the board, they're consistent in their welcoming and warm approach—you're not just a patient, you're a part of the crew that's working together—and the facility is always clean, accommodating and calming. Five stars are not enough!!!
I went to this place for an MRI with contrast, and it was a terrible experience. They stuck me 6 times trying to find a vein and still couldn’t do it. After all that pain and all those attempts, I had to leave without getting my MRI done. I understand that some people can have difficult veins, but six unsuccessful attempts at a specialized medical center is unacceptable. It was a painful, frustrating, and very disappointing experience. I would never want to go through something like that again.
Today was my wife’s and my first visit to Southwest Florida Proton Center in Estero, Florida. The first of its kind on the west coast, this amazing proton therapy facility should complete the already comprehensive portfolio of first class medical services provided by the Lee Healthcare System.
