Sorry but "we can't to do anything about the mistake we made" is what I was told on the phone. I took off work to make my 3pm appointment and I arrive to find out that Southside Eyecare canceled my appointment and didn't call me to notify me. I get paid hourly so this is extremely frustrating. Brianne, the receptionist, told me "I" canceled the appointment a few times. I told her that I wish she would stop saying I canceled because I definitely didn't cancel my appointment without rescheduling a new one. Keep in mind, they installed a new system recently which may have caused the issue. To that she got irritated with me and said sir I'm just not getting through to you. I told her I can hear you please continue. To that she repeated the same thing with an awful attitude. I don't know why but I was simply and legitimately correcting her. Maggie, Brianne's supervisor, was nice but, ultimately did not fit in a time for me. I called the next day to have Southside Eye Care make things right but the office manager Anne, told me they couldn't and wouldn't do anything for me. All I asked was for them to pay me back the hour of work I missed due to Southside Eye Care's negligence. To that she said I want to make it right but I can't do that. Well, I got to ask how can you actually make it right? A sorry does nothing. I understand this office is constantly busy but, that's no excuse for the way I was treated. I've been here since I was a little kid and iam just shocked to see this. A quick rundown: I walk in and am told I canceled my appointment and they get mad at me when I dispute it and then no solution is offered other than to reschedule an appointment that I already scheduled. Started going to Southside about 2 years ago after retiring to Virginia. As a retired health professional I appreciate how they treat their patients from the front desk, to your exam, and even as you leave. This is also the only medical facility I’ve been to that continues to fully maintain COVID precautions. I had cataracts removed from both eyes in January and Dr Keverline and Lisa the surgical coordinator, fully explained everything from pre-op, post-op and insurance coverage. There is also an optical area in same building.
