I never saw a doctor. Nurses 4-5 times, and an NP once. After 7 hours, I was released, still in excruciating pain with no clear instructions, a steroid, and Valium. I will drive 45 minutes to Bon secours the next time I need an ER. Even if I have to call the squad, I'll die before I go there again.
My father was a patient there twice this past winter for pneumonia. As he is 84 and never been hospitalized for anything even though he does have some health issues it was a very stressful time. We could not have been more pleased with the care he received from everybody there from the ER to the floor nurses, doctors and therapists. Even the housekeeping staff were all pleasant and friendly. I he r been a nurse for 37 years and I would recommend this hospital to anybody! Thankyou!
From the time I was admitted into the emergency room and my stay at the hospital was great. Everyone knew their jobs and was done in a very courteous manner. All nurses and doctors knew what they were doing and were,great to work with.
Everything was great except wait time. Took my step daughter because we thought she had broken her hand. Ended up waiting 5 hours before we saw a doc or nurse. And another hour to be discharged. They didn't tell us anything until we were discharged. We did not get asked if we needed anything. My kids had to wait for a nurse to walk by just to get a cup of water. When the nurse came in to give my step daughter meds we had to ask what it was for and what it was. Just a very unessicarially long night.
There was a time when i couldn't have bee paid to go to Centea but NOW....WOW!!! When I say things have changed. THINGS HAVE CHANGED!!! The facility itself is so much cleaner. And the staff is AWESOME! From housekeeping to dietary even to the office personnel, ALL are SUPERB. Its bad enough to be sick but to have to deal with rude staff doesn't help any. Well this WASNT the case. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!!!
Why is there not an Endocrinologist in the hospital? There are MANY patients that are in this area and surrounding counties that have to travel to Chesterfield and beyond for these services. Please do not force your patients to VCU South Hill hospital.
