RecommendedDr Keith cook is the best animal doc around!! Him and his wife Eileen are such great people and go above and beyond for their customers!! Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!! The staff is also very knowledgeable and very helpful as well! Keep up the great work you guys!!
All of the employees from front desk to techs to vets are all very friendly and professional. We used to have an iguana and she was treated there. We have been taking out cat there for over 10 years. Always a good experience.

I cant not even begin to Express my gratitude for everyone that works here!! my chinchilla Bentley was super sick and we weren't sure if he would make it. they saved his life!! my baby is going so good!! thank you to everyone who helped get my little boy better!!! Doctor Lisa Walter's was amazing!! she talked us through everything and helped me in any way she could. we had to syringe feed my little guy which he hated and I couldn't figure it out so she had us bring him back up and teach us how to do it at no charge. I have been taking my all of my pets; 2 cats, 2 dogs, to Southgate for over 15 years. My two babies, DIXIEXVIII, and WillieII have been patients for all their needs. They have been taken care of with love, caring, and excellent vet services. Dr. Adam Cohen , his vets and the rest of the staff, have treated my two dogs with the utmost of care. I wouldn’t trust any other vet, with my animals.
I usually see Dr Eileen but have had the pleasure of seeing them all at one time or another. Friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable. I could go on. Never an issue getting an appointment. Office staff is super friendly too. Drs take time with pets to make them comfortable. I’ve also never had a long wait there to see the Drs. When my Dane puppy broke his foot, Dr Keith went out of his way to make a cast that would fit my guy which required a trip to Lowe’s!
Southgate Animal Hospital is the BEST in all of Downriver. The staff is top notch, and the Doctors are great. My dog, Socrates, just loves that place!
They really care about the fur babies. Best vets ever.
