This place is a sham operation, be smart and stay away. The lack of any real focus on having a Pet focused hospital is evident after we brought our dog in for an exam as our main Vet Dr. was closed on Saturday. The entire staff was disorganized and after a while it began to feel like a total lack or organization. The unprofessionalism from both the doctors (Vets) and the accounting department at Southern California Veterinary Speciality Hospital is unreal. Our dog died as a "freak and rare reaction" while under anesthesia to a contrasting agent and I believe this was a lie and that we were not told the truth. We spent thousands of dollars on pretests to make sure the heart could handle the planned ultrasound and all other blood tests came back great. 9k dollars is what it cost me. My dog had a mass that was 65% cancer and it was best to put him down. Gilbert is extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. My dog never had cancer.... My dog was sent home with a neck injury and 15 pounds lighter in 4 days. It's ALL ABOUT MONEY.

First let me point out... Upon walking in, a document is shoved in my face with big bold letters. HOW MUCH ARE YOU WILLING TO SPEND TO SAVE YOUR PET. They want a number so they can charge you that amount. I will never go to this place again! After receiving a drug from another emergency vet the same night, my dog immediately started panting and having problems breathing. PLEASE BEWARE BEWARE - BEFORE TAKING YOUR LOVING ANIMAL HERE ! My unthinkable experience happened on 2-15-18. My 7-1/2 year old pomchi (Jeter), was not feeling well on Monday before we were introduced to SO CAL where my Jeter would be put to rest. This place is a rip off. The front desk staff members are unprofessional and rude. The managed, Gilbert is an unprofessional ***** who has no compassion for animals. When my dog died, he offered no condolences. We specifically asked the vet to tell us PRIOR to the operation of our dog that they would operate on him. My dog was in critical condition. Instead of doing that, they operated on him without telling us. They called us AFTER the operation to tell us that they were done with the operation and that my dog only had a co... read more
