Had to bring my dog in on a Sunday for a UTI, and they gave her Gabapentin (which is a nerve pill). Then 6 days later I have to bring her back because she collapsed and was drooling terribly. The doctor proceeded to tell me before any bloodwork that it's probably a brain tumor then proceeds to charge me nearly $1000 again for the second time in 6 days to tell me they don't know what's wrong and this isn't an isolated incident. Terrible service!
Our 10 year old golden has has heart and pulmonary problems for almost 6 months. When his heart filled with blood, our regular vet said to get him to Blue Peal immediately. BP saw us right away. Dr. Wolf and everyone at Blue Pearl have taken great care treat and manage his health. They make us feel like his their only patient and spend ample time going over his condition. My dog just needed an appointment from a specialist from Gainsville who is only there 1 day out of the month, I scheduled with Dr. ***** at 11:00am many weeks in advance. Sarah w/AVS (manager with no flexibility or real patient concern) told me a day before the appointment that Dr. ***** would be between 2 and 5 hours later than my scheduled appointment but insisted I come in at 11:00am anyway to see Dr ***** (internal meds - no cardiology certification) who I didnt need - just to charge me more money and waste my entire day... read more
Do NOT take your pet here find another Emergency Hospital or Vet. They played on my emotions and in TWO days didn’t do **** for my cat! I told them if he’s too far gone to be honest with me but being I’m a woman bawling because I want my cat to be ok they conned me out of $7,300! TWO DAYS. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I rushed my cat who was in distress to the hospital. I was honest about my financial situation. I told the vet I was afraid the cat had salmonella due to sardines I fed her. The vet convinced me that it was related to her cancer, but did mention that she might be septic. Using that information after my cat was euthanized I went home and did research. Sepsis is caused by bacteria and salmonella is bacteria, I guess. The cat was ok until becoming violently ill from eating sardines. Raw food like sardines can carry salmonella. ... read more
This place is a sham operation, be smart and stay away. The lack of any real focus on having a Pet focused hospital is evident after we brought our dog in for an exam as our main Vet Dr. was closed on Saturday. The entire staff was disorganized and after a while it began to feel like a total lack or organization. I have owned 12 dogs over 50 years and some have had emergency health issues, from genetic disorders to Parvo to the standard abscess. Until now, I have yet been to a clinic that estimates your total bill BEFORE they've looked at the animal. While doctors seem competent and I appreciate the quality of care, it's clear this clinic is over-priced. The unprofessionalism from both the doctors (Vets) and the accounting department at Southern California Veterinary Speciality Hospital is unreal. Our dog died as a "freak and rare reaction" while under anesthesia to a contrasting agent and I believe this was a lie and that we were not told the truth. We spent thousands of dollars on pretests to make sure the heart could handle the planned ultrasound and all other blood tests came back great.
