History Established in 1988. The South Platte Sentinel was started by Ken and Delinda (Korrey) McDowell in 1988 as a weekly community news paper. In August 2016 the paper was sold to Media News Group, were it is continuing to bring weekly community news to Logan County, Colorado.

I have looked forward to "The Sentinel" every wednesday morning online for a long time. Unfortunately the JA took over and it's half the paper and as usual it's Thursday and no Sentinal to read yet. Way to go JA, you've turned the only paper in our area worth reading to crap. And my, how quickly you have done that.
