Founded By Mervin and Evelyn Vatland as Electronics Associates in 1966, they moved to 1828 W. Wisconsin Ave, the present location of Muntz Audio-Video and changed the store name to Sound World. The business grew to one of the largest stereo stores in the Northeast Wisconsin and in 1978 Sound World moved to their present location at 3015 W. They Listen! Sound World is one of my favorite spots to get my electronics. I've gone in numerous times and spoke with Dave who really takes care of you...and actually LISTENS to what you have to say, rather than trying to sell you just anything. I always recommend this place to my friends and family...highly recommend checking this place out, even just to see the layout of the store, very interesting inside showcasing all kinds of different theater layouts and designs.
this location and the company in general as far as I can tell is complete crap. I have them install a remote car starter in my vehicle, paid over $200 for this. that remote car starter literally has to be reset every 6 months when the batteries died in the key fob because every time you replace the battery is it unlink from the car. so I would have to go in consistently they could never get ahold of the one guy that they had that knew how to do this. then he quit and they never hired a new guy. so now I have a remote car sta... read more

Great staff. They go out of their way to earn tour business and ensure you are satisfied with your purchase. I’ve purchased two sets of speakers, two Ortofon cartridgesa, an A/V receiver and a Rega turntable here. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Sound World used to be a great place to go. The install took much longer than I was quoted, so I took off of work for 2 Fridays, expecting after 2 weeks for my sound system to finally sound great. When I got in my car, $740 later, it sounded worse than when I brought it in. I was so disappointed. I left the Sound World wiring in it as I paid for it, but something was terribly wrong with the wiring job he did!
