Are we talking about the same shop!!!!! I truly love this store. When you walk in the employees and owner make you feel like family! Yes, maybe you don't always find what you want but you should know that going into any consignment shop. The greatest part is that clothes are constantly coming in everyday, so if you don't find something one day you will find it another day.
Great Consignment Shop that Philadelphia Needs! I have been going to Sophisticated Seconds for 5 years. I like the store a lot. All of the staff people are very, very nice. I have had only incident with a staff member that did not fit the category of very, very pleasant. And her attitude was not outrageous, only slightly impugning that I was trying to get too much of a bargain during their bag sale. Honestly, I go mainly during their sales. Qualtiy used clothing with more classic style I visited this store on Sansom Street near 20th Street (not sure if it's a new branch or they've moved) and found the layout very pleasant. Personally, the style was geared to a slightly older person than I am, but I can imagine stopping here if I need some work clothes. Prices seemed decent for a vintage clothing store, more like a consignment store rather than a thrift (e.g. goodwill, salvation army) store. Best Second Hand Store in the Center City This amazing store on Sansom Street has great items. The small space means you need to stop in frequently to find the best buys, but closes are current, stylish and in season. Prices for top name designer pieces are bargains! Jewelry and accessories are great. I get more compliments on items I buy here than anywhere else new or used! Mostly women?s closes, including formal wear, and a limited but top notch men?s area.
How rude! Hopefully today the woman working there was just having a bad day because she was very rude! The clothes are way over priced and they are still second hand. They are charging for the brand name i would assume. The atmosphere is very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place to anyone else!
