I went to BSW as an ER patient with stomach pains. Dr. Mathews was the on call gastroenterologist who treated my issue. I've been very pleased with everything that was done, and the planned continued treatment for my issue. He and the staff were very professional and caring.

Dr. Mathews is fantastic at what he does, but he can also be somewhat dismissive. Let me explain: I went in for issue “A.” He told me that it was rare, that it doesn’t happen often and that it could be something else. He scheduled me for a colonoscopy, and he confirmed that he didn’t see anything related to the problem I came in for. I had severe chest pain one night and went to the ER. Long story short, I was first sent to the cardio doc who cleared me and was then sent to Dr. Mathews for an Endoscopy. I have to say, Dr. Mathews was amazing. Very thorough, great bedside manner and very responsive. Will use him every time I need a GI doc. Thank you.
