The Sons of Essex menu is a reflection of the diverse melting pot of cultures that has gentrified the Lower East Side. The old school ‘Bowery Boys’ atmosphere and ‘Gangs of New York’ vibe pays homage to the history of the Lower East Side, fusing a traditional american comfort food menu with a diverse range of spices of Lower East Side immigrants past with the use of local ingredients and Essex Street Market fruits & vegetables.

DJ and song playlist were awesome! Cool ambiance too. Had a great time dancing! Drink prices were too high for the size and quality. Didn't eat there.
The service was pleasant. The ambience and DJ were amazing. The food however was abysmal. The cornbread needs quality control because it was either soaked in kerosene or they used "government butter" to bake them. No bueno. My eggs benedictowitz were overcooked and the plate was messy. I paid thirty dollars for that plate and it was so not worth it. Also it sucks that group parties either have to all agree to get liquor or no one can. TF!? So yeah, I'm not pressed to visit again.
The food was excellent, but more enjoyable than that was the exceptional service. I plan to return everytime I visit New York!
