03/16/2026 I checked in at Sonesta Newark Friday, March 13, 2026 at around 10pm. The hotel room and the hotel itself were disgustingly dirty. I found trash under the mattress and packs of Ramen Noodles from, I’m assuming, a previous guest under the seat in the room. The mattress was stained with something reddish, and I’m hoping it’s wine. Brandon at the front desk was helpful and personable on the phone and in person. No issues at check in. Room was a bit small and dated, but hotel is under renovation and priced accordingly.
These people have the worst service imaginable. And don't even think of trying to cancel - they hang on to your money like thieves. Stay somewhere else.
We recently stayed at Sonesta Select Newark Christiana Mall and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we checked in, our room did not have hot water. We immediately notified the front desk, and maintenance attempted to “reset the water,” but the issue was never resolved.
