We stayed at this Marriott property for one stay during our recent visit to Toronto. This isn’t a typical hotel, these are more like service apartments. Ours was a studio and it was pretty spacious as compared to a hotel room. However, we missed having a concierge, front desk and breakfast area. We checked in using a door code.
Room was very nice. Location excellent. However, don’t expect any customer service. This is pretty much a self-service, fully automated AirBnB disguised as a hotel. No front desk staff or limited, billing was a nightmare.
It was a lovely stay. Much nicer than advertised in the photos. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and I appreciated the special touch of a personalized note and chocolates when I checked in. The Sonder was also located in a great part of Toronto which made for a nice walk after work and lots of dinner options. The only thing is that while the bathroom was a neat layout and ultra modern, the shower situation was not great. The room was fairly clean, and the location is good, other than that I would not recommend. Lots of damage in the building, halls, water damage. No amenities, could not find a place to get additional towels, and there is only staff on location a few hours a day. They use a chat in the app to communicate, but it takes awhile for them to get back to you.
