Stayed at Sonder Gabriel Richard and honestly, I don’t know why some of these reviews are so harsh. My room was gorgeous — exactly like the pictures (which is rare these days, let’s be real). Everything was clean, stylish, and had that downtown vibe without feeling cramped. Plus, the view? Chef’s kiss. If you're looking for something functional, Sonder Detroit essentially has what you're looking for, at a good price in a good location. This is basically it though. Our room was bar none the filthiest hotel room I've ever been in upon checking in, with dust caking the vents and air conditioning unit. Sheets were dirty and had stains. The floor looked and felt like it had never been washed. Multiple lamps did not work and the TV remote also did not work. Cleanliness is an obvious issue here. We checked in and our bed had bugs on it, along with dirty floors and shower. The staff was quick to switch rooms. Did a thorough search on the second room and the mattress pad had crumbs/stains all over it. I took photos and I was refunded immediately- so overall good service but not somewhere I would stay. We booked with another hotel.
