Dr. Sommer is an extremely thorough doctor. The well being of his patients is his guiding principle. He is considered one of the top orthopedic physicians in Northern California and has earned a reputation as a skilled and extremely knowledgeable physician. I have worked with his office for about 40 years and have been consistently impressed by both Dr. Sommer and his staff.
Dr. Sommer did my highly successful laminectomy in 1991 at Good Samaritan hospital. I had a ruptured disc and was completely bedridden. Here I am, 25 years later, and my back is still going strong. I continued to ski until about 5 years ago (gave it up with the drought), and I still hike, bike, and swim. I would never have imagined that my back would be doing this well 25 years later, considering that I was a young age 23 at the time of surgery. Thank you, Dr. Sommer!
