NOT for Plus Size Brides I went to Bridals by Something Special after having wonderful experiences at two other small shops. I admit I’m not a teeny bride, but I consider myself to be at the lower end of the plus-size spectrum. I currently wear a size 14/16. My consultant at Bridals by Something Special pulled several gowns for me to try..... but I only got through 4 before calling it quits. Don't waste your money I'm paying almost 400 dollars for a bridesmaid dress i will never wear again. These women scam you and by the time you realize it, it's too late. DON'T ALLOW THEM TO MEASURE YOU. They will claim your bust size is too big. Choose your own size. They will reassure you they know what's best, but you will finally get your dress and it will drop right off of you. It happened to every single person in our party. Can you help me??!!!!!!?????? I walked into this store over 2 hours before they were closing and received the worst service. I even called and told them when I was going to come in and they told me that wasn't a problem. Well, I got there early and felt completely blown off. I just wanted to look at dresses for my bridesmaids and browse through the racks. When I started asking some questions the service sat down and answered me as if I was a burden. Mother-of-the-Bride was happy! I went there on a recommendation of a close friend. I had been to numerous other stores before and was very discouraged at not finding anything yet. When we went to Something Special, I found a very large selection of reasonably priced gowns suitable for mother of the bride. Even though I am a larger size(16) and the try ons are usually smaller(8-10) and made me feel terrible about myself, the ladies, Irene and Linda, were very compassionate and helpful. Try it out, Make an appointment with Linda I made an appointment because it was so highly rated in theknot. After reading some of these reviews I was unsure. I wasn't sure what I wanted when I went in. Linda was absolutely wonderful. She picked out some dresses and although I'm not done looking, if I found the same dress somewhere else, I would get the dress from there because she was such a pleasure to work with. Make an appointment and ask for Linda.

Exceptional Service! From the minute we walked into the store, everyone there was extremely helpful and friendly. I tried on a ton of dresses and was never pressured into any one and they kept bringing me more and more until i finally found the one! When my dress came in, it came in an inch shorter than what we were expecting and whiter than we thought it would be for ordering ivory. Horrifying -- both service and expertise I don't understand how these women are in business. I went here to get a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding. The seamstress made a mess of the alterations: she took the easy (lazy) way out and tried to create darts rather than taking the dress in. When the dress was too big, she accused me of losing weight. Expected better In the beginning the service was excellent... though the gowns are overpriced. I gave them a price range and they said "this is an upscale shop...we really don't have anything below that price). I think it is ridiculous to even spend much over $1000 for a freakin' gown you wear ONCE!. After myself and my bridesmaids ordered everything, things went downhill. Nice but Pricey This shop certainly does have beautiful dresses and the family run staff is extremely nice. HOWEVER, I feel that all they cared about what getting money in their pockets. They tell you what you want to hear so they can make the sale. For the bridesmaids dresses, my girls were disappointed because they all had to order dresses at least 4 to 5 dress sizes to big and then get major alterations. All in all, give them a try - they have nice options for bridesmaids dresses. Don't be scared to shop around :)
