Great Girls Night Out! – Great time had by all. I was in a group of 8 for a friend's bridal party. Our waiter Steve was awesome. Very helpful with menu and wine list. Food was great, lots of different things to try, which is fun. We went with all the Chef's recommendations. Spent more than I would going to somewhere like Applebees but well worth it. Good food, very fun atmosphere, great waiter. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, romantic date, small group get together, etc.
Good food if you're callista flockhart – The place is for the people that are all about image. I'm not, so that's probably why I didn't care for it, plus they could have just as well slapped me in the face when I got the bill. In all actuallity the food was very good. I went with a very large group of family so I was able to try many different things. Beautiful Artwork, Authentic and Spicy Food The menu for Solera is quite extensive, and the artwork adds a beautiful touch to the authenticity of this restaurant. What I really like is the seperate tapas bar, which is open later than the regular restaurant. There is a rooftop bar as well, which offers a beautiful view of the city. The wait staff is very polite, the food is served quickly, and the drinks are priced right.
Great food, Snotty Service. Kind of dead Fri eve – Friday night. By phone they said "hour wait," but @ 9:30 plenty of tables, inside & out. Food was great. Grilled sausages, spicy beef tenderloin (not spicy but good), baked egg/sausage, grilled veggies (YUM) = all outstanding. However, service (patio-main level & upstairs) = terrible. Leaves a lot to be desired – The seating was prompt, but the rooftop was not serving food. Our server was rude and knew nothing about the wine. In fact, she recommended a white wine that turend out being red. The waitress checked back after an hour - and made a rude comment under her breath as she walked away. Our food was slow in arriving, due in large part because the staff could not deliver the tapas to the correct tables. Well, it looks like you had a bad egg server. If you had mentioned this to a manager I'm sure we could have changed your impression of Solera. In addition, no one else would ever have to be served by that server again. We would have terminated her. As a tapas restaurant small plates and smaller portions are what we do. This world traveler thinks Solera is wonderful! – I see a few less than complimentary reviews here, one from a self-proclaimed world traveler, and here's what I can tell you--EVERYONE thinks they know tapas. And guess what? It's different wherever you go, so LIVE with it! Solera does a beautiful job with taste, presentation, variety, service, atmosphere and wine selection. Why do you think they were one of Zagat's Top 10 restaurants IN THE WORLD for 2005???
I was expecting more from this place! – The Good : Its a hip place with a nice trendy feel. The techno/dance music fits the upscale ambiance. This feels like a place to be seen at. The Bad: Ive visited Tapas bars throughout the country and Solera is now the proud owner of last place. Great, Great, Great – What a fantastic special occasion restaurant! The servers were so helpful with the menu throughout the meal, and all the dishes arrived very promptly. I recommend the veal & chorizo meatballs, and the asparagus with mahon. Delicious! The flavors of the food really stood out based on the quality of the ingredients, and not just the strength of the spices or sauces. I'll recommend Solera to my friends, and definitely go back myself.
