I love using the sun to cook my food. It gives me an earthy feel and does not heat up the house. It is light weight and portable. I will enjoy trying new adventures in outdoor cooking.

Just received. Tried a few veggies yesterday afternoon. Today was going to be all sunny. So I loaded up a pot with a lot of veggies (celery, potatoes, carrots, onion, banana peppers, spaghetti squash), Italian seasoning, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and some sausage chunks. Put it in the Solavore in the sun, late morning. Later, picked up some pork chops, put them in a pot, added them to the hot Solavore about 2:30 p.m. They were well done, but not dry, at 5:00 p.m. Great supper!

I've been using my Solavore for years now: generally several times a week. The only thing I've found that can't be cooked in it is pie crust - everything else, from cornbread to ribs to soups to lasagne... do great!

I've had my Solavore 7 months and I love it! Why haven't I been cooking like this my whole life? No electricity, no fuel. Just collect some sunshine and the food cooks. One day in January, it was 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside, but the sun was out and the oven got up to 220! On sunny summer days it routinely gets to 300. I baked a wonderful loaf of yeast bread in my Solavore oven today.

I use my solar oven at my preschool. My children and I, on the chilly shores of Lake Superior in Duluth Minnesota, frequently create our snacks in the solar oven. I don't know who is more thrilled by it, the tots or me?

I'm in love with my Solavore oven- just pop in vegetable of choice, and voila! Sun-enhanced flavors and textures! Latest sensation- purple sweet potato and dried banana chips! The sugar in the banana chips are carmelized, like candy! It's so much fun!
