Great food and service. I wouldn’t recommend sitting in the back seating area - the AC was between incredibly hot or chilly, which caused us to pay too much attention to it.
Unwelcoming and Unequal Treatment I visited Sofia’s for a solo happy hour but didn’t feel welcome from the moment I walked in. As the only Black guest in the restaurant, I was immediately met with prolonged stares from the hostess. I was seated at the bar and given the dinner menu, despite others nearby clearly having happy hour menus. I had to specifically ask for it. My wife and I went to Sophia’s in englewood for the first time to celebrate our 40th anniversary.We had reservations and were immediately seated upon our arrival in the back atrium with the sliding glass roof. What a great atmosphere. The staff was impressively attentive. Our glasses were never empty. The table was constantly attended to by everyone working the room.
