Very rude for sure! Went in to get a second social security card for my son and they wouldn't issue me one because my Id was in the mail and my Fort Leonard Wood contractors license doesn't have my birthdate on it. So the man said nope can't use it. It's a legal document but not good enough cause the birthdate isnt on it. So then he said look it's common sense if you can't read it says....blah blah blah. This was a disappointing visit. Getting ready to retire and was looking for clarification to questions going forward. Took a day off work , but was a waste of time. Security guard treated us like we were coming to terrorize the building. The gentleman we were scheduled with we never saw. The man at the front was rude, unhelpful, and gained very little information. Federal employees should be held to a higher standard.
Seems like no one wants to do their job at this office and not look at legal documents by the court to make things an easier process.(Updated review edit) When I received my son's ss card it was wrong. When I went in to told the guy needed a new card for him with the legal name change that was skimmed over by a judge. The guy needs a new job and not deal with people. I thought it was all said and done but no. I'd rather go to another office across the state that actually will do what the court has ordered. This guy works for... read more
Rolla, though an hour and a half away, is THE best option for a visit to a SSA office. Polite, efficient, helpful employees... it's worth the drive!
