They showed up and immediately told me the cost would be more to pack after I paid for packing services. The person who told me he was the “foreman” could not speak or understand English to the degree necessary to communicate clearly. He tried to get me to sign that I would pay more without being able to tell me why. It didn’t say how much more…he wanted me to sign a blank document. We hired Smooth Relocation Vanlines (NorthSouth Moving Transportation Co.) to move our family, including two small children, from Mount Prospect, Illinois to West Palm Beach, Florida in June 2026. It was one of the worst experiences we have had as a family. We paid $5,225.15. Of that, $4,544.15 was collected by Zelle to personal accounts: a personal Gmail address at pickup and the foreman's personal mobile phone at delivery. No card payment was accepted at either end. I strongly regret hiring this moving company. My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. All of their 5 start reviews are fake. They initially quoted a very low price and assured me there would be no hidden charges. However, once all of my belongings were already loaded onto the truck, they suddenly started adding unexpected fees that were never discussed beforehand.
