This is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had the ribs were tender and the brisket sandwich was on point. I love the sauce on the ribs as well. Even the mac and cheese was out of this world

I moved away from Madison 20+ years ago and every time we return to visit, we stop at Smoky Jon's. I live in the south where there is great BBQ, but Smoky Jon's is our clear favorite! The food is amazing, the staff friendly and his restaurant clean and inviting. It is one of the highlights of each trip to Madison.

I've had BBQ in several states and I live between Milwaukee and Chicago and have hit several places with high ratings around my area. Smoky Jon's is the best I've had in quite a long time. The sauce did it on the ribs, but the brisket for the sandwich can stand on it's own with no sauce. Wish it was closer.

Love, love, love me some Smoky Jon's BBQ! Didn't used to be such a big BBQ fan growing up but I'm a convert now! I've liked everything I've tried - ribs, chicken, sandwiches and sides, and really like the chili too (its very different, not a soupy tomato stew like at so many places). Had a full slab dinner recently and it was heaven - even used a little trimmed meat to go with a noodle bowl lunch at work the next day! Smoky Jons is the best ribs ever. I enjoy them every chance I get; they are an indulgence for me. We have mentioned Smoky Jons to friends from the twin cities and the next time through Madison, they remembered and stopped to see if what I told them was true. They agree, best ribs ever. I only wish there were more locations.
