AHS sent them out to service our garage door opener. He replaced a part and that didn't fix it so he just started pushing things on the circuit board around a bit and it started working. So we called it good, but 3 days later and only using the opener once in that time, it was back to not working. Waited for Monday and called Smokies and they sent another guy out this morning at 10am and I left him alone to tend to my mother's breakfast and less than 3 minutes later I heard it running again. Unfortunately mechanics are never a guarantee. We do try our best to correct the issue at as little cost as possible to the customer. Sometimes a recall visit is needed. In this situation since repairing the issue did not work, we actually installed a new Genie opener system at that recall visit.

The technician quoted my wife $1080 to repair my garage while I was away. The door needed new springs and a new belt pulley. I called him and asked if he could just replace the parts and he said no the parts aren't available. I declined the service. Once I returned home I went to the manufactures website and purchased the parts that he stated were not available for $16 (including shipping).
