I'm a bbq junkie, this place is a hidden treasure. As close to real southern barbecue that you'll find in new jersey. Service was good, food was excellent with big portions for a good price. Recommend their birch beer
I was pretty disappointed. We read the reviews online and decided to go here for my birthday. My husband had the pulled pork and while the texture was good, it was bland. My food was cold (except for the baked potato) - my corn on the cob was very watery, the ribs were bland - I had one rib and didn't want anymore. The brisket was ok - needed more flavor and it was luke warm. Corn bread was a little dry and seemed store bought. Not sure how the food was cold when it was only us and two other tables. The service was slightly slow, given that there was only one other table besides us. Food was FANTASTIC. I got pulled bbq chicken lunch and my husband got a brisket sandwich. My daughter got chicken tenders. I also liked the decor - felt a bit old timey. I recommend their root beer!! Somerville apparently is not exactly bustling for weekend afternoons, so you will always get a seat for lunch. Oh, and they have FRIED OREOS for a dessert. They had some kind of cream in them, which made them unique. Delicious!
Smokehouse catered our son's 1st birthday party. Everything was delicious! Our guests could not stop complimenting the food! Cant wait for leftovers!! Thank you so much for helping to make our little cowboy's party a success!
