Excellent food service and Bar. Dana and Kevin? were great they worked well together to make sure we never waited for anything. We had a 3 item platter that was great and came out much faster than we expected.

Second visit. Great food (and lots of it!) very friendly atmosphere
3.5 stars, but it only does whole stars. Food is awesome, portions are more than enough for the $$$$. The service is on par, very friendly. Only thing lacking is there BEER, the choices are few and mainly the domestic choices with a few limited crafts beers. Craft beers choices and number of them require very much attention, not sure they fully understand beer today, understand they serve BBQ, but they advertise as a bar as well with craft beer.
Great food and love their brisket and the atmosphere in there.
Well it's two days after my daughter's wedding at the Portsmouth woman's club and I just wanted to say thank you to Steve, Kathy and all the gang over there at smoke for doing such an amazing job with the food… Could not have asked for anything better… especially Everyone was raving about The barbecue chicken..... thank you so much!

Best bbq in the Hampton Roads area. I've eaten bbq all over the Southside and Peninsula and this is the best. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff. Never been out of anything when I've been there, but it's a restaurant I'd rather them run out if something than serve me something a week old. I've been here several times and never had a bad experience.
Only thing I have to say is that you never disappoint. Love this place.
