I had an incident as 22 year-old in good heath where I didn't have chest pain but a weight on my chest after a great day of work. Dr Battula has been a blessing to our family and situation. Her experience working with children and young adults is evident and she provides clear explanations and recommendations. We are also so appreciative of her hours -- she understands the schedule of kids and working parents and has evening and even weekend appointment hours. Dr Battula also promptly returns phone calls, and does so personally. She's warm, friendly, open and caring with us and with our children. We are very pleased and would recommend her to anyone.

She doesn't listen to adult patients either. I was with her for 4 years, 3 of them after I turned 18. Things were fine until I asked if I had bipolar disorder and started being medicated for it. She refused to take me off SSRI medication and blatantly denied a well-documented side effect of SSRIs in people with bipolar disorder--accelerated manic episodes. Dr. Battula prescribed very high doses of medications, specifically a stimulant even after I told her he did not do well on one before. My son became violent, aggressive, and suicidal. He ended up being hospitalized. I called Dr. Battula twice to let her know he was admitted to the hospital for suicidal ideation, she never returned my call. She also rushed through our appointment and did not listen to me or my son when we tried to explain the difficulties with the new medicine.

Smitha Battula gave my teenage daughter amphetamine salts even though I told her I was concerned, that she had a family history of amphetamine drug abuse. She ignored the fact I told her, assuring me that the drug would not be addictive. Each visit she increased the dosage until she got to the highest amount. My daughter became a different person, violent and enraged and suicidal. When I tried to call only once, or email once, this so called doctor, scolded me because she did not want an email or call “during business hours”... read more

Dr. Battula had a great bed-side manner. She spent additional time reviewing foods to avoid for children with ADD. She gave my son a remarkable verbal test that I've never witnessed another doctor using to really learn his strengths and weaknesses. Plus, I love her hours. I really liked our previous doctor, but he's too far and his hours were traditional. Dr. Battula's hours allow for my sons not to have to be taken out of school. I highly recommend this doctor!

Not a professional caring physician. Will not listen to the kids and figure out better treatment options. Always rushing because she gives too many appointments at once. Always a new front desk person.
