Read about Smith Street Diner on Fox 8's facebook page and had to try it out. Sure glad we did!! We arrived at just the right time between the Saturday breakfast rush crowds and were seated immediately. Our friendly server answered all my questions and took our drink orders while we perused the menu. My husband and I both chose the make your own 3 egg omelets with different ingredients. I love it ... service has always been excellent to me ... never had any wait staff to be ugly. Only a handful have complained. I remember the original owners well, they were so friendly. I came for breakfast last week and back today.

My boyfriend and I trudged through the snow from our university to eat here today, and this diner has amazing breakfast food for a great value! We got a lot of food without paying a ton for it. The pancakes were humongous, slightly crispy and buttery, like a grandma'a would be. Also, even though it was packed, we got our food so fast! The coffee is bottomless and very good. Every time I get a chance to eat here, the food is awesome. Im happy we have a place like this in Greensboro that feels so comfortable.

The staff does not know how to handle a rush well, and the actual restaurant is not set up to accommodate waiting patrons. They were very rude to us, and used the excuse of being busy to justify it. There are better options in Greensboro for breakfast or brunch.
