This diner has amazingly delicious food, great service, and a quaint, nostalgic atmosphere!!! I certainly understand why Southern Living magazine selected Smith Street Diner as the "Best Diner in North Carolina!"

Very nice, friendly place with excellent service. We could see that there were customers of all ages, from families, to couples who were obviously on a date dinner, to seniors and single diners. A universal place that appeals to every generation is hard to find nowadays. The food was pretty good; our party of six tried the philly steak sandwich, the country style steak, the rib-eye steak, chicken soup, and pasta with meat sauce. Our daughter lives in Greensboro and we love coming to this iconic place for breakfast. Biscuits as big as footballs and real friendly staff!
