I also had a bad experience with Smiles at Home. They "treated" my mother at Sunrise Senior Living in Victoria. Mom kept saying they would look in her mouth and didn't do anything. Upon her insistence we went back to her old dentist who confirmed that it didn't look like her teeth had been cleaned for over a year... I.e. her previous visit to her old dentist. After leaving Sunrise for another facility she has experienced good dental care since.
Disappointing experience with Smiles at Home. My mother was admitted to a long-term care facility, and within the first weeks, a dental hygienist from Smiles at Home conducted a dental exam on her—without consulting me first, even though I am her primary contact/caregiver. I promptly received the bill and "assessment," citing that because I had provided consent for medical treatments, this authorized her to proceed without asking.
